Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Lead BMS Software Support to join a growing leader in pharma/biotechnology. This onsite contract role is based in Clayton, NC, and will drive design, integration, and continuous improvement of building management systems for pharmaceutical manufacturing operations.

The Lead BMS Software Support will lead cross-functional teams, oversee BMS-connected equipment, and collaborate with vendors to ensure compliant integration with Kepware, PI System, CAHS, and AVEVA

Qualifications

• 5+ years in BMS/automation with leadership experience.
• Hands-on experience with Siemens, Rockwell and Wonderware platforms.
• 2+ years of project management including scope, schedule, and deliverables.
• Pharma environment knowledge (cGMP) and FDA compliance familiarity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Biotechnology or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead internal and external teams for BMS projects, ensuring reliability and compliance.
• Provide hands-on expertise on BMS platforms to optimize performance.
• Oversee BMS-connected equipment like chillers, boilers and AHUs.
• Collaborate with vendors to integrate Kepware, PI, and CAHS systems.
• Recommend and implement continuous improvements for BMS and AVEVA systems.

Piper Companies is seeking a Lead BMS Software Support role to join a growing leader in the pharmaceutical/b iotechnology space for a contract, onsite position located in Clayton, NC. The Lead BMS Software Support will lead the design, integration, and continuous improvement of building management systems (BMS) to ensure optimal performance, compliance, and reliability across pharmaceutical manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities of the Lead BMS Software Support include:

• Lead internal and external teams, including system integrators, to ensure successful BMS project execution and system reliability.
• Provide hands-on expertise in Siemens, Rockwell, and Wonderware platforms to optimize building automation performance.
• Oversee BMS-connected equipment (chillers, boilers, AHUs) to ensure operational efficiency and compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to support integration with systems like Kepware, PI, and CAHS.
• Recommend and implement continuous improvements for BMS and VDS AVEVA systems.

Qualifications for the Lead BMS Software Support include:

• 5+ years of experience in BMS, automation, or related technical fields, with leadership of internal and external teams.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Siemens, Rockwell, Wonderware, and PLC‑based control systems.
• 2+ years of project management experience, including scope, schedule, and deliverables.
• Experience in cGMP pharmaceutical environments with knowledge of FDA regulations. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field.

Compensation for the Lead BMS Software Support:

• Salary Range: $65-$75/hour (USD)
