Job summary

Encore Electric, Inc. seeks a Lead Building Automation Technician to install building automation controls on commercial job sites in Cheyenne, WY, leading crews and ensuring safety and quality.

You will work with PLCs, wiring, panels, and field devices, reading schematics, and collaborating with project teams to meet deadlines and customer expectations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; two years in technology construction preferred.
  • Formal electronics education preferred.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and use test meters.

Responsibilities

  • Install building automation controls and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Pull wire, work with PLCs, panel enclosures, raceways.
  • Troubleshoot HVAC systems and related equipment.
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams and test meters.
  • Attend progress meetings and submit service orders.
  • Lead crews on projects and coordinate with PM.

Job description

Overview

The Lead Building Automation Technician assists in the installation of building automation controls on various commercial job sites. This position is also responsible for complying with Encore Standards for safety, and customer service.

Compensation Range for this Role

$30.00 - $35.00

General Responsibilities
  • Work independently or as part of a team
  • Understand and follow safety guidelines and ensure others are following the appropriate protocols
  • Understand scopes of work and can effectively complete the tasks associated
  • Understand common industry tools including applicable testing equipment and how to use them
  • Efficiently lead crews on different sized projects and/or more than one
  • Communicate, educate and delegate effectively
Responsibilities For BAS
  • Assists in installation of building automation systems
  • Pulling wire, working with PLC’s, panel enclosures, raceways and more relevant tasks
  • Commercial HVAC trouble shooting skills
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, pumps, towers, chillers, metering system steam, electric, CO, air flows, VAV systems, etc.
  • Proficient with test meters and wiring diagrams
  • Installation of controllers, communications wiring, conduit and field devices in workman like manner
  • Attend project specific progress meetings as needed and forward pertinent information to PM
  • Perform preventative maintenance and diagnostics on automation system and components according to service agreement contracts
  • Complete and submit written service orders and reports covering all aspects of each assignment and activity

Physical Requirements

A functional physical is required to be completed and passed before work can be performed in all field positions. The physical requirements can often be completed repetitively and for extended periods of time. These requirements include:

Requirements

This position requires a minimum of high school diploma or equivalent and two years of experience in a Technology Construction related field is preferred. Formal education in Electronics or related field is also preferred.
