Job summary

TelevisaUnivision is seeking a Software Engineer, Backend – Lead/Architect to provide senior technical leadership for ViX's backend platforms and services. You will guide architecture, design, development, and evolution of scalable backend systems powering APIs, content, identity, payments, and more.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience with backend systems.
• Experience at Lead/Architect level or equivalent.
• Expertise in backend architecture, distributed systems, and scalable design.
• Hands-on development with modern backend languages and frameworks.
• Experience operating high-volume production systems and RESTful APIs.
• Cloud-native architecture experience (AWS/GCP).
• Experience with containers, orchestration, CI/CD, monitoring, and observability.
• Ability to lead complex initiatives across multiple teams.
• Strong communication to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, and development of scalable backend services and APIs.
• Define technical direction focusing on scalability, reliability, performance, and security.
• Remain hands-on in development, code reviews, and production support.
• Drive complex engineering initiatives from architecture through deployment.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering leadership to translate roadmaps into solutions.
• Partner with Cloud/DevOps for deployment, resilience, and observability.
• Mentor engineers and lead architectural reviews and governance.
