Job summary

Rocket Lab seeks a Lead Manufacturing Engineer – Avionics & Test at its Long Beach, CA headquarters. You will develop and sustain processes for avionics components, and support design to production handoffs across programs.

You’ll lead improvements, mentor engineers, and ensure timely, on-budget delivery. You’ll manage DFMEA/PFMEA activities, factory layouts, and production readiness, while contributing to lean initiatives and root-cause investigations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in engineering (Electrical, Aerospace, Manufacturing or Mechanical).
• 5+ years in a manufacturing environment with leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of EEE piece parts, PCB/PCBA and electromechanical assembly.
• Experience applying design for manufacture/test and lean manufacturing concepts.
• Experience solving component issues with circuit fundamentals in fast-paced settings.

• Coach, mentor and develop engineers to reach new career heights.
• Lead reviews, interview and hire for new roles, set team goals.
• Drive value stream mapping and cell design for manufacturability.
• Oversee factory layouts, equipment selection and production commissioning.
