Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, IA, seeks a Principal Software Engineer for Avionics Software Tools. You will lead a medium-to-large team and architect DO-330 compliant tools and infrastructure, enabling engineers to design and deploy avionics solutions for aircraft platforms.

The role requires a strong software background, systems experience, and collaboration across Avionics teams, with onsite work in Cedar Rapids and global collaboration.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree with 8+ years of experience, or an advanced degree with 5+ years of experience.
• Proficient in C/C++/C#, Python and Java.
• Experience with Linux and Windows 11 and using software on Windows PCs.
• Experience with software engineering processes: requirements, design, testing and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for medium to large software teams developing Avionics tools.
• Perform project reporting and status updates for management.
• Collaborate with aircraft systems engineers and software teams to deliver integrated avionics solutions.
• Interact with engineering teams across Avionics.
