Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) is seeking an Avionics Development Project Engineer for the FQ-42 Aircraft Program.

Under general directions, this role coordinates system-level design and integration of avionics, including vehicle control, navigation, RF and power systems. The position provides technical leadership, guides development from requirements through testing and documentation, and interacts with customers and management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or related technical discipline with progressive engineering experience.
• Strong technical expertise and ability to coordinate workloads to meet deadlines with some leadership experience.
• Ability to understand new concepts quickly in a changing environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with cross-department coordination.

Responsibilities

• Determine technical objectives for advanced engineering problems.
• Provide technical leadership and act as champion for the platform during development.
• Plan and guide development including deployment, testing, and documentation.
• Coordinate maintenance of engineering solutions including reporting and presentations.
• Communicate with customers, management and external personnel throughout the project.
• Travel as required and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
