Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Plano, TX, seeks a Specialist, Electrical Engineer to design and develop electrical systems for aircraft and ground stations, including wiring diagrams and harnesses using Capital Harness System, NX, and TeamCenter.

You will lead a small team of electrical design engineers, mentor junior staff, coordinate with Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production, and ensure designs meet requirements at minimum cost. Travel and security clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with four (4) years of experience designing and developing electrical systems for the integration of electronic equipment on military/commercial aircraft and ground systems.
• Graduate degree with two (2) years of experience designing and developing electrical systems for the integration of electronic equipment on military/commercial aircraft and ground systems.
• In lieu of a degree, minimum of eight (8) years of experience designing and developing electrical systems for the integration of electronic equipment on military/commercial aircraft and ground systems.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Designs avionics, RF, LAN, data processing, sensor and power distribution systems.
• Create and review wiring diagrams, circuit breaker panels, control panels using CAD tools.
• Lead a small team of electrical design engineers and mentor junior engineers.
• Coordinate with Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production to meet requirements at minimum cost.
• Travel to flight line and work in aircraft hangar environments.
