Job summary

Sight & Sound Systems seeks a Lead AV Installation Technician to install home theatre systems and service residential security systems in the Dulles, VA area. This full-time role requires hands-on work, ladder access, and leadership of field teams.

The ideal candidate has construction site experience, tools proficiency, and a background in AV/networking setup. Compensation is $35–$40 per hour with a company vehicle and full benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience working on construction sites and climbing ladders.
• Ability to pull cabling and install AV equipment.
• Willingness to lead a field team and troubleshoot devices.

Responsibilities

• Pull/Terminate/Test Low-Voltage Cabling (Category, Fiber, Speaker, Lutron).
• Mount devices at the ends of wires (AV/Network/Control/Lighting).
• Build and lace equipment racks; configure devices and networks.
• Lead technicians to deliver projects; assist with programming.
• Maintain client communication and on-site training.

Lead AV Installation Technician

Department: Technician

Location: Dulles, VA (Sight & Sound Systems)

Reporting To: Amelia, Production Manager

Compensation: $35.00 - $40.00 / hour

Description

We are the contractor of choice for residential system integration services with several local and regional home builders in the Northern Virginia area. Technicians will have broad responsibility to install home theatre systems, and service residential security alarm systems.

You Are:

• A trustworthy individual. Hungry to learn and grow. Hands-on and love being in the field as opposed to being behind a desk. Technically inclined, leading teams, and always curious how things work.

You Have:

• Experience on construction sites. Ability to climb ladders, pull cabling, use power tools & hand tools. A steady work history (3yrs between hops), a pleasant disposition, High EQ.

Your Schedule:

• Hours Per Week: 40 Hours Per Week
• Days Per Week: Monday to Friday (8:00am-5:00pm)

Your Contribution to Sight & Sound Systems:

• Pull/Terminate/Test Low-Voltage Cabling (Category, Fiber, Speaker, Lutron)

• Advanced setup and configuration of devices
• Advanced understanding of networks
• Advanced troubleshooting of devices
• Activation and configuration of residential security alarm systems
• Lead and guide fellow technicians to help deliver our best projects

• Ability to pass a background check to obtain Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) license
