Job summary

Greulich's Automotive Repair is seeking a Lead Automotive Technician to guide diagnostics and complex repairs in a fast-paced shop. You will drive technical strategy, validate quality, and mentor technicians to uphold Sun Auto standards.

The role requires 5+ years of advanced diagnostic experience, ASE certifications, and the ability to coach others while communicating clearly with customers and teammates. Weekend work flexibility is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years automotive technician experience performing advanced diagnosis and complex repairs.
• Advanced diagnostic capability using scan tools, meters, service data, and systematic testing.
• Ability to coach and guide technicians with constructive feedback while maintaining standards.
• ASE certifications or equivalent competency with commitment to ongoing training.
• Ability to translate technical findings for managers, advisors, teammates, and customers.

Responsibilities

• Serve as final technical escalation point for complex diagnostics and repairs.
• Develop diagnostic plans and confirm root cause before repair authorization.
• Perform the shop's most complex repairs to a high standard (advanced electrical, driveability).
• Complete post-repair validation including road tests and torque verification.
• Review DVIs and repair orders for accuracy, safety, and completeness.
• Coach GSTs and Technicians on standard work and tool use.
• Partner with managers on repair strategy and customer communication.
• Model safe work practices and ensure compliance with procedures.
• Work a flexible schedule, including weekends; support ongoing leadership.
• Assist with training and development of shop staff.
