Autos of Chicago in Arlington Heights, IL is seeking an experienced Shop Foreman to lead our service department. You will supervise technicians, assist with complex diagnostics, and ensure repairs meet quality standards before release.

You'll coordinate with Service Advisors, monitor productivity, uphold safety and shop procedures, and mentor junior technicians in a high-volume, modern facility. This is a full-time, long-term role with competitive pay and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of automotive repair experience.
• Previous experience as a Shop Foreman, Lead Technician, or Master Technician preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• ASE Certifications preferred.
• Leadership and team management experience.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support automotive technicians throughout the repair process.
• Dispatch repair orders efficiently based on technician skill level and workload.
• Assist technicians with complex diagnostics and difficult repairs.
• Ensure repairs are completed correctly the first time.
• Perform final quality control inspections before vehicles are released.
• Monitor technician productivity and efficiency.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop.
• Coordinate with Service Advisors regarding repair status, delays, and additional repair recommendations.
• Help reduce comebacks through proper repair procedures and quality inspections.
• Ensure compliance with manufacturer repair procedures and shop policies.
• Assist in training and mentoring technicians.
• Monitor shop equipment and report maintenance needs.
