Job summary

GE Healthcare in West Milwaukee, WI seeks an Automation Engineer to support design, build and commissioning of automated equipment for X-Ray Tubes production. You will own controls, hardware programming, and robotics integration across existing and future lines.

You will lead projects, develop machine concepts, and validate systems while applying Lean/Six Sigma to drive productivity. Strong PLC/HMI skills, experience with GE Proficy and AB/Siemens gear are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or higher in Electrical/automation-related field.
• 5–10 years in automation design, build, and deployment.
• Experience programming PLCs and robot systems, and documenting processes.
• Knowledge of safety standards and electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing of internally built equipment; programming and controls design.
• Develop machine concepts, validation, and commissioning of new fixtures.
• Lead automation projects, including robotics integration and vision systems.
• Create training materials for automated controls technologies.
• Apply Lean/Six Sigma to improve productivity and reduce costs.
