Job summary

Alliance Defending Freedom is seeking an experienced Audio Engineer to lead live event audio for conferences, seminars, galas, and webinars. You will own front-of-house, monitors, and broadcast mixes, ensuring clarity and consistency across all programs.

In this role, you will design room systems, coordinate RF/ wireless gear, prepare show files, and support Arizona studio and video shoots. Travel to venues and collaborate with producers and crews are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in audio engineering, music production, media production, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of professional audio experience in live event production, studio recording, and post-production audio settings, including primary A1 responsibility for events using professional-grade systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with mixing front of house and monitors live, for spoken word and music, in rooms of varying size and acoustics.
  • Ability to manage multiple events, studio sessions, and deadlines independently when required.
  • Knowledge of live sound reinforcement principles, digital audio consoles and show file workflows (Yamaha, DiGiCo, Allen & Heath, Avid).
  • Knowledge of RF and wireless microphone systems, audio-over-IP and networking (Dante, AES67).
  • Knowledge of broadcast and steaming audio requirements, studio recording and post-production practices.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the A1 for assigned events, designing and operating front-of-house, monitor, and broadcast/stream mixes.
  • Design room system and loudspeaker configurations; tune and align for venue acoustics.
  • Coordinate wireless mic and in-ear monitor systems; manage RF scanning and frequency coordination.
  • Prepare input lists, patch sheets, stage plots, and console show files before load-in; communicate requirements to producer and crew.
  • Mic, sound check, and support presenters and performers; brief on mic technique and monitoring.
  • Set up, operate, and strike audio systems including consoles, amps, loudspeakers, and cabling.
  • Coordinate audio with video, lighting, and show control cues for a unified production.
  • Diagnose and resolve audio issues in real time; implement backups to minimize disruption.
  • Support Arizona studio and media hit studio; set up mics, mixers, and monitoring for video shoots and podcasts.
  • Provide audio for live media hits with proper feeds and levels before air; ensure signal integrity.
  • Record, edit, mix, and master audio for produced content; adhere to broadcast and web specs.
  • Maintain studio acoustics, signal flow, and Dante-based networks where deployed.
  • Deliver finished assets to post-production/communications teams; archive session files.
