Job summary

County of Ventura seeks a Managing Attorney for the Department of Child Support Services. The position oversees legal activities, handles paternity and child support civil litigation, and leads a team of attorneys and staff.

The ideal candidate has progressive management experience in child support law, with LCSA Title IV-D familiarity, and required FBI/DOJ background checks. License by the California Bar is required, with a strong commitment to public service.

Qualifications

Progressively responsible management or administrative experience in child support law and personnel management.
Experience as an attorney for a Local Child Support Agency (LCSA) regulated by Title IV-D program is preferred.
Must be licensed by the California State Bar Association.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize and supervise the legal activities of the Department of Child Support Services; perform complex civil litigation related to paternity and child support.
Lead a team, manage staff including supervising, interviewing, training and evaluating performance.
Demonstrate experience with court cases in California Family Law and Child Support and ensure FBI/DOJ clearance.
