Job summary

Amazon in Utah is seeking a Lead Associate to support a fast-paced, safety-conscious warehouse environment near Salt Lake City. You will lead team members, ensure timely deliveries, and maintain a clean, organized workspace while delivering exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

  • At least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk for shifts up to 12 hours, and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
  • Able to use carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other gear to move items.
  • Able to go up and down stairs where applicable.
  • Available to work a flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays; on site for the entirety of shifts.
  • 1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Work a flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.

  • Work 40 hours/week, with overtime as required.

  • Experience providing peer-to-peer feedback.
  • Demonstrated success in problem solving and delivering results.

Responsibilities

  • Support, motivate, and model desired behavior for the rest of the team.
  • Manage operational processes, safety, quality, performance, and customer delivery promises following Regional Area Manager guidance; act as their main support at your assigned site.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, safe, and organized workspace.
  • Provide ongoing training in areas including system and equipment knowledge, quality training, and general operations; assist Regional Area Manager in identifying training needs.
  • Provide feedback on processes and standards; serve as the escalation point to assist associates and peers in solving issues, training, deploying labor, and ensuring breaks and lunches are taken as required.
  • Maintain a key to the site and open/close following proper procedures.
  • Handle a wide assortment of products including produce, meat, seafood, and alcoholic beverages.
  • Receive truck deliveries and collaborate with associates and delivery partners to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service.
  • Participate in associate onboarding as required.
  • Ensure consistent execution of product workflow processes, guiding associates on receiving, stocking, replenishing, and preparing for delivery.
  • Perform front-line duties when necessary.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of customer experience and operations by developing best practices and expanding product knowledge.
  • Utilize inventory management systems to scan, process, and count product.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

This role requires open availability seven days a week, and flexibility to work at various sites within 10 miles of the primary Operations site in the Salt Lake City metro area (as needed).

Site experience
  • Safety: We provide safe working conditions.
  • Surroundings: Retail warehouse environment with equipment such as shopping carts, pallet jacks, stock dollies, and a variety of products, including food and alcoholic beverages. You’ll also interact with digital shopping technology.
  • Activity: Frequent movement between areas, standing during most tasks, and some lifting. You may need to reach into coolers or freezers.
  • Noise level: Typical for a retail warehouse environment.
  • Dress code: Relaxed, with safety rules; comfortable, slip-resistant, closed-toe shoes required. Additional protective and visibility gear may be required.
  • New site opening: If applying to a site that hasn’t opened yet, you’ll help prepare the team for its first customer orders, including tasks like setting up shelving and unloading deliveries. An extended training and onboarding period may occur at a nearby site.

The starting pay for this position is listed below, including the base pay rate plus the highest available shift differential which applies depending on the shift you select. As a total compensation company, additional earnings may include shift differentials and overtime pay. Final pay will be based on factors including shift selection and location.
