Job summary

Hamlin County Farmers Cooperative in Lake Norden, SD is seeking an Assistant Store Manager for our Country Store. This hands-on leadership role focuses on daily store operations, inventory control, cash handling, and delivering excellent customer service.

You will supervise staff, assist with scheduling, coach employees, and ensure safety and food handling standards while driving growth and member satisfaction in the local community.

Qualifications

• Has leadership or supervisory experience or demonstrated ability to lead a team.
• Experience in retail, convenience store, food service, or customer service.
• Ability to handle cash and use basic computer systems.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager with daily store operations.
• Order merchandise and manage store inventory.
• Prepare and transport bank deposits and complete related errands.
• Receive deliveries, stock shelves, rotate inventory, and maintain displays.
• Perform daily cash handling, deposits, till reconciliation, and lottery reconciliation.
• Train, coach, and support store employees; help with scheduling and coverage.
• Fill in during absences, including evenings, weekends, or holidays.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe store.
