Job summary

Disney Branded Television in Glendale, CA seeks an Assistant Director to partner with Executive Producer, Director(s), and production teams to execute the show's creative vision within schedule and budget.

You will guide Storyboard, Animatic, and Shipping, supervise storyboard artists, cover Director duties when needed, and manage tight deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Story or Animation departments.
• Knowledge of Traditional Animation, CG Animation, Visual Effects and/or Video game production.
• Proficiency with storyboard software and hardware including Cintiq and Toon Boom Storyboard Pro.
• Strong leadership to mentor artists and collaborate with creatives and executives.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the SB Artists and Revisionists in partnership with the episode Director and execute revisions as needed.
• Cover series Director responsibilities when the Director is unavailable.
• Attend Hand-Out meetings and align the team with direction, schedule and goals.
• Follow up with the episode Director and SB artists after hand-out to ensure clarity on direction.
• Regularly check in with SB artists to keep them on track.
• Approve storyboard artwork as delegated by the Director.
• Communicate issues impacting schedule/budget to Director and LP to find timely solutions.
• Collaborate with Director and Editor to create Animatic and finalize for Ship/Board-o-matic stages.
• Review materials prior to shipment to overseas studio.
• Work with Timing Director, Continuity Coordinator and Production for final approval before shipment.
• Coordinate with Director to address Executive, Legal and S&P notes throughout production.
• Conform Storyboards as needed.
