Job summary

Terumo Cardiovascular Group in Ann Arbor, MI is seeking a productive team member to lead and train Associates on assembly, packing, testing, and inspection of medical devices. This role partners with Shift Leads to optimize production, ensure quality, and meet schedules in a manual manufacturing setting.

The candidate will monitor safety, coach on performance, and maintain accurate staffing and inventory records while supporting site procedures and ERP workflows.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of two years of site production experience.
• Basic computer software skills, i.e. Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead and train Associates; liaise between Associates and Shift Lead.
• Direct and maximize workflow and adhere to production schedules.
• May operate, maintain, repair, or investigate machinery.
• Track inventory and run ERP transactions.
• Monitor time/attendance and report to Shift Lead.
• Provide coaching on performance, production, and safety.
• Keep Shift Lead informed of production issues.
• Ensure daily staffing requirements are met.
• Assemble product; package and inspect visuals/functional aspects.
• May perform equipment checks.
• Train and monitor Assemblers' performance and quality.
• Maintain clean, organized work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for leading and training other Associates, acting as a liaison between Associates and Shift Lead/supervisor, and performing all aspects of inspecting, packing, testing, and assembling product. This involves facilitating departmental activities with department Shift Lead/supervisor as well as providing coaching and guidance to Associates regarding performance and production issues with the support of the Shift Lead/ supervisor.

• In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.
• Abide by safety procedures.
• Direct and maximize workflow/production changes and adhere to production schedules.
• May include some machine operation, maintenance, repair, and investigation.
• Track inventory and/or material shortages so ensure shortages do not occur. May perform inventory transactions in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
• Monitor and track time/attendance and provide accurate information to the Shift Lead/supervisor.
• Provide Associate coaching and counseling on performance, production, and safety issues.
• Keep Shift Lead/supervisor informed of production issues.
• Ensure daily staffing requirements are met.
• Assemble product, as required. May pack product, inspect visual and/or functional aspects of product.
• May perform equipment checks.
• Train and monitor Assemblersâ performance and quality.
• Maintain clean and organized work area in accordance with site‑specific procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

The position exists in a manual production environment with minimal exposure to automated equipment. May require gowning procedures for controlled environment. May at times involve exposure to chemicals that have fume removal by exhaust system requiring the use of personal protective equipment. May require the use of eye protection, hand protection and depending on noise level, may require hearing protection.Visual acuity in compliance with site specific Visual Acuity Program. Majority of workday is spent either standing or sitting. On occasion, may stoop, bend, reach, pull, etc. Typically include frequent lifting of up to 10 lbs. and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. At times, moving equipment.

The base wage range for this role is $20.86 to $23.12. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, internal equity, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand.
