Job summary

HayloARC, a Haymarket Media company, seeks a Lead Architect to guide the HayloARC platform in a hybrid New York office. You will design scalable cloud infrastructure, data workflows, and AI-enabled features, while mentoring engineers and balancing build vs. buy decisions.

Collaboration with Product and Finance shapes the roadmap and budgets. This technical leadership role requires 4+ years as a Technical Architect and deep experience in distributed systems, serverless, containers, and security

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field.
  • 4+ years of experience as a Technical Architect.
  • Experience designing scalable, complex systems and web best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of architectural patterns and documentation of architecture.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to business stakeholders.
  • Experience with serverless tech and containerization (Docker).
  • Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases and security best practices.
  • Experience in agile environments (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and vendor evaluations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design and development of the HayloARC platform under VP Enterprise Architecture.
  • Translate business requirements into a scalable technical roadmap with Product.
  • Coordinate with Dev, Data Eng, and BI teams for robust solutions.
  • Collaborate with DevOps on cloud infra architecture and scalability.
  • Own external integration strategy including API design and onboarding.
  • Manage technical debt balancing long-term architecture with business needs.
  • Drive modern development practices and standards adoption.
  • Partner with product and finance on schedules and budgets.
  • Introduce predictive modeling and early AI features into product.
  • Mentor developers and stay updated with industry trends.

HayloARC is looking for a talented Lead Architect to join our growing team. This position is located in our New York City office on a hybrid work schedule; three (3) days in office depending on business needs. This is a technical leadership position requiring experience in advertising technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the VP Enterprise Architecture, lead the design and development of the HayloARC platform
  • Partner with the Product team to translate business requirements into a robust, scalable technical roadmap
  • Coordinate with the Development, Data Engineering and BI teams to build effective solutions, ensuring clear communication of technical requirements
  • Collaborate with the DevOps team on the architecture, design and scalability of the Cloud infrastructure
  • Own the external integration strategy, focusing on scalable API design, efficient client onboarding, and managing vendor/partner data exchange to ensure seamless interoperability
  • Proactively manage technical debt by balancing long-term architectural health against immediate business requirements
  • Drive adoption of modern development practices and standards
  • Collaborate with product and finance teams on project schedules and budgets
  • Develop ongoing innovation as we begin to integrate predictive modeling and early AI into product features
  • Mentor the Development team to foster technical growth and excellence
  • Keep up to date with industry trends and platforms to address business needs, and drive innovation
  • Responsible for evaluating vendors and solutions to recommend build vs buy

Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field
  • 4+ years of experience as a Technical Architect
  • Experience working with and designing complex systems, open source, or internally developed. Ensuring that systems are scalable and adhere to web best practices
  • Experience with architectural patterns (e.g., Event-Driven, Microservices, CQRS)
  • Experience documenting system architecture and design
  • Ability to communicate technical information for business stakeholders, and clients
  • Experience with serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda, GCP Cloud Functions
  • Experience with Docker or other containerization
  • Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Knowledge of security best practices regarding data, file storage, and SDLC
  • Experience with system observability and monitoring performance
  • Experience working in an agile environment such as Scrum, Kanban
  • Experience evaluating enterprise platforms, vendors, and RFPs
  • Experience managing simultaneous projects and prioritizing tasks
