Thomson Reuters Labs seeks a Lead Applied Scientist to define the AI/ML roadmap and drive high‑impact research across product features. You will mentor scientists, engage stakeholders, and translate customer problems into AI solutions.

The role emphasizes expertise in RAG architectures, agentic frameworks, tool‑using systems, and evaluating AI across professional domains such as legal, tax, or risk. Hybrid US locations are supported.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s in CS/ML required or equivalent industry experience.
• 7+ years building production IR, NLP, ML or GenAI systems.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver AI capabilities.
• Publications in ACL/EMNLP/NAACL/NeurIPS/ICLR/KDD are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Define research strategy and lead high-impact AI initiatives.
• Mentor scientists across Labs and engage stakeholders.
• Translate customer problems into AI product solutions.
• Develop methods for domains such as medical, tax, or law.
