Job summary

Ascensus is seeking an Application Security Engineer to lead the application security program within agile Scrum teams. You will drive best practices for securing web apps and APIs, advise on SBOMs and secure development, and collaborate with technology leaders to meet information security goals while embedded in development teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years in Secure Software Development and/or DevSecOps.
• Ability to define software security and privacy requirements.
• Solid understanding of threat modeling, risk and mitigation.

Responsibilities

• Protect confidential data and ensure proper handling to prevent unauthorized access/disclosure.
• Develop agile, innovative DevSecOps practices across SDLC.
• Provide security consultation to scrum teams and owners on controls and secure SDLC.
• Participate in sprint planning to embed security requirements.
• Conduct security analysis including architecture review, data flow analysis, and threat modeling.
• Deploy and integrate SAST, DAST, and SCA; guide remediation in CI/CD pipelines.
