Job summary

Montage Health is seeking a Lead Anesthesia Technician/Technologist to supervise all anesthesia techs and ensure timely completion of duties per standards. You will work under the Anesthesiologist and report to the Assistant Director of Main Operating Room, coordinating tasks and training staff.

The role emphasizes developing standard work, prioritizing staffing, and maintaining equipment, with opportunities to mentor new hires and support patient care teams.

Qualifications

Job description

Position Summary

The Lead Anesthesia Technician/Technologist will report to the Assistant Director of Main Operating Room and work under the direction of the Anesthesiologist. The Lead Anesthesia Technician/Technologist is responsible for the supervision of all other Anesthesia Techs to ensure routine duties are performed in a timely manner and in accordance with practice standards.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the Charge Nurse in surgical and procedural areas to prioritize room turnover and set‑up of anesthesia equipment and supplies for procedures with efficient and effective use of available resources.
• Coordinates Anesthesia Tech activities and delegates daily duties and assignments to facilitate efficient workflow and assistance with anesthesia care for patients.
• Facilitates training of new hire employees and continuing education for Anesthesia Tech staff.
• Develops standard work, determines work priorities and schedules to provide adequate staff coverage.
• Works to resolve challenges encountered during daily operations and determines appropriate solutions; promotes teamwork.
• Encourages regular communication, informs nursing staff of relevant workflow issues.
• Serves as a resource and role model and helps resolve interpersonal conflicts.
• Assists anesthesia providers and nurses by preparing and maintaining patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems before, during and after anesthesia.
• Maintains proficiency in the application, acquisition, preparation, and troubleshooting of various types of equipment required for the delivery of anesthesia care.

Experience

A minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Certified Anesthesia Technician at an acute care hospital preferred.

Education

As necessary to obtain required certification.

Licensure/Certifications

• ASATT (Anesthesia Technologist and Technician) certification preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• PALS preferred.

Assigned Work Hours

Monday through Friday AM shift. Shift could start between 5:00 AM and 6:30 AM. 8‑hour shift.

Pay Range

Based on years of applicable experience: $45.93 to $61.44 per hour. Shift differentials apply based on hours worked.

Shift Differentials

Hourly Evening Shift Differential: $3.07.

Hourly Night Shift Differential: $4.61.
