Job summary

Cowboy Space Corp. is seeking a Head of Analysis to lead the analysis organization within Launch & Propulsion. You will own structural, thermal, and CFD analyses, shape margins philosophy, and build a toolchain enabling rapid hardware‑speed iteration.

You will build and mentor a world‑class team of analysts, define standards, and present substantiation at design reviews and flight readiness discussions. A strong background in aerospace analysis and leadership is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or related engineering field.
  • 10+ years in structural, thermal, or CFD analysis for aerospace or propulsion hardware with at least 5 years in technical leadership.
  • Deep expertise in at least one analysis domain with working knowledge of the others.
  • Proven ability to define analysis methodologies, margin policies, and flight hardware substantiation.
  • Proficiency with ANSYS, Fluent, Star-CCM+, Nastran, Abaqus, Thermal Desktop, Sinda.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own the analysis philosophy for the program, including margins and model fidelity.
  • Develop the analysis‑versus‑test strategy with leaders to ensure safe hardware cadence.
  • Build and lead a team of structural, thermal, and CFD analysts with clear career paths.
  • Lead structural analysis across engines and vehicle systems, covering static strength to life assessment.
  • Lead thermal analysis for propulsion components and vehicle systems; define models and correlation strategies.
  • Lead CFD efforts for internal and external flow and propulsion environments.
  • Develop and maintain the analysis toolchain and AI/ML‑augmented methods for rapid iteration.
  • Establish documentation standards to support design reviews and flight-readiness arguments.
  • Correlate analytical predictions with test/flight data and update models accordingly.
  • Coordinate with design, test, manufacturing, and mission assurance teams to ensure on-schedule delivery.
  • Present analysis substantiation at milestones to leadership and customers.
