Job summary

Americold is seeking an experienced Refrigeration Technician III to perform advanced maintenance and repair of refrigeration systems across our warehouse facilities. The role requires independent work, contractor oversight, and strong knowledge of ammonia systems, electrical, mechanical, and PLC controls.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in industrial refrigeration maintenance, Hazmat certification, and CMMS experience.

Qualifications

5+ years industrial refrigeration maintenance experience, including ammonia refrigeration.
High school diploma or GED.
Completion of assigned Industrial Refrigeration and Mechanical-Electrical courses.
Troubleshooting experience with control systems (e.g., ALTA/Allen Bradley).
Hazmat certification and ongoing training.
Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) experience.

Responsibilities

Define and set up ideal operational settings for refrigeration equipment.
Proactively monitor system performance and take actions to maintain optimal operation.
Troubleshoot refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, and controls systems to root cause and fix issues.
Perform calibrations (valves, sensors, transducers).
Repair/replace components with safe procedures and in accordance with PSM.
Maintain preventive/predictive maintenance records in the CMMS.
