Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority is seeking a Senior Project Manager Construction to lead major program delivery at IAD, DCA, and the DIAAH, directing staff, consultants, and contractors to meet scope, schedule, and budget.

The role emphasizes design coordination, contract administration, safety, QA/QC, and coordination with public agencies; requires strong leadership and public-sector experience.

Qualifications

• Eight years of progressively responsible experience managing and coordinating building construction (including Airport Terminal and Airfield projects), Utility projects, Civil Infrastructure projects, and General construction projects and associated subordinate staff.
• Demonstrated ability to oversee large-scale, multi-disciplinary construction programs in a public sector or similarly regulated environment.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the principles and practices of project management with emphasis on construction.
• Proven experience in supervising professional and technical staff, resolving construction and design challenges, and driving accountability for quality, cost, and schedule performance.
• Knowledge of and ability to apply key regulatory requirements of the building trades and generally accepted practices of the construction industry.

Responsibilities

• Directs, coordinates, and monitors all construction phases and activities of the construction projects under the Airports Authority.
• Inspects and monitors new construction in progress and upon completion, ensuring work meets contract specifications and design intent.
• Leads project lifecycle including design coordination, contract administration, construction oversight, QA/QC, and turnover.
• Coordinates submission of construction progress reports and reviews shop drawings, material lists, and related items.
