West Star Aviation in Perryville, MO is seeking a Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift to guide a team of technicians in delivering high‑quality, on‑time maintenance within FAA guidelines.

The successful candidate will lead project flow, mentor staff, troubleshoot systems, and ensure safe, efficient operations while maintaining strong communication with customers and supervisors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Airframe and Powerplant license required.
• 8+ years in aviation maintenance preferred.
• 4+ years on program-specific airframes.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team to complete jobs and manage day-to-day tasks.
• Implement a strong turnover of work to the next shift.
• Reduce turn time of aircraft through effective supervision.
• Train and mentor technicians assigned to projects.
• Supervise team members in daily workload and project execution.
• Perform general mechanical functions on aircraft and related systems.
• Troubleshoot and evaluate aircraft systems when designated.
• Ensure FAA paperwork and compliance are completed.
• Coordinate projects and communicate with customers and management.
• Direct the work flow of multiple projects.
