Job summary

The Hartford is seeking a Senior AI Machine Learning Engineer in EB AIA to build, deploy, and sustain enterprise-scale predictive AI solutions across pricing, underwriting, sales and policy workflows.

This hands-on technical lead will translate architectures into production assets, manage model pipelines, and guide junior engineers while advancing generative AI capabilities. Hybrid work with 3 days in the office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field or 6+ years of equivalent experience.
• Master's degree in CS/Engineering/IT/Data Science preferred.
• Strong Python, SQL, SDLC, and production-grade coding experience.
• Experience deploying data/AI workloads on AWS and GCP with logging and monitoring.
• Experience with ML workflows: training, inference, monitoring and retraining.
• Ability to work within enterprise security and governance standards.
• Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers across model/pipeline work.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day engineering for EB predictive models, pricing and underwriting pipelines.
• Build, deploy, and maintain AI/ML components and data pipelines.
• Translate designs into tested, production-ready code and workflows.
• Advance generative AI and agentic AI initiatives with governance.
• Develop batch and real-time data/AI pipelines for training and inference.
• Deploy production AI services and maintain CI/CD, observability, and security.
