Job summary

Camgian Labs, the company’s advanced R&D unit, seeks a Lead AI Engineer to guide a highly technical team and deliver AI/ML capabilities for national security missions. You will stay hands-on while owning architecture, execution, and delivery across customer-funded and internal R&D efforts.

Responsibilities include directing design, reviews, and mentoring engineers, while collaborating with customers and stakeholders to turn mission needs into practical solutions from concept to prototype.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience in AI/ML development, validation, and deployment.
• Demonstrated proficiency in algorithm development and implementation using Python or similar programming languages.
• Strong mathematical background and knowledge of AI, ML, deep learning, and modern data science techniques.
• Experience leading technical efforts across multiple engineers or workstreams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience interacting directly with customers and stakeholders.
• Experience working in Agile or iterative development environments.
• Ability to travel up to 10% within the United States.Eligibility to obtain or maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.

• Improve team effectiveness through structured planning, clear prioritization, and timely resolution of technical and organizational blockers.

You will remain an active technical contributor while owning architecture, technical execution, and delivery across customer-funded and internal R&D efforts. You will work directly with customers, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to turn mission needs into practical, effective solutions from early-stage concepts through prototype delivery. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who wants to remain hands‑on while leading engineers, shaping technical direction, and delivering complex technical work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, statistics, applied mathematics, or a related field.
