Humana Inc. seeks a Lead AI Engineer to own the design and delivery of agentic AI capabilities for the NBA platform.

This hands-on role requires you to write production code while leading a small team of engineers and contractors focused on AI-powered workflows and intelligent analysis across the platform. You will architect multi-step pipelines, integrate large language models, and collaborate with frontend and product teams to deliver AI-driven experiences.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software or ML engineering experience with 1–2 years in LLM integration or AI product engineering.
• Hands-on experience building production agentic systems and multi-step pipelines.
• Experience with retrieval-augmented patterns and vector search in production.
• Strong Python engineering skills and ability to ship production AI systems.
• Experience integrating LLM APIs (Anthropic/OpenAI) into real applications.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, build, and delivery of agentic AI workflows across the NBA platform.
• Write and ship production code; this is a hands-on role, not purely supervisory.
• Architect multi-step pipelines that integrate with data, decisioning, and activation channels.
• Lead LLM integration including prompt engineering and context management.
• Collaborate with frontend/product teams to embed AI capabilities in UI surfaces.
• Build evaluation frameworks to measure AI output quality and ensure reliability and safety.
