Job description

84.51° Overview:

84.51° is a retail data science, insights and media company. We help The Kroger Co., consumer packaged goods companies, agencies, publishers and affiliates create more personalized and valuable experiences for shoppers across the path to purchase.

Powered by cutting‑edge science, we utilize first‑party retail data from more than 62 million U.S. households sourced through the Kroger Plus loyalty card program to fuel a more customer‑centric journey using 84.51° Insights, 84.51° Loyalty Marketing and our retail media advertising solution, Kroger Precision Marketing.

SUMMARY:

The Agentic Platform team is at the forefront of designing and delivering platforms for agents across the Kroger enterprise – spanning agent control plane and development tooling, deployment and evaluation platforms for both pro‑code and no‑code agents, and high‑tier customer‑facing agent infrastructure. Our users today are primarily engineers and data scientists, with an expanding footprint into business users across the organization.

As the Lead Agile Delivery specialist on the team, you'll serve as the connective tissue across four squads operating within a single, unified Agentic Platform team. This is not a role for someone who defaults to the Scrum playbook – it's a role for someone who questions it. You'll partner closely with product managers, tech leads, and individual squad scrum masters to shape how modern software delivery works in the age of agentic AI, ensuring teams stay aligned, unblocked, and moving with purpose.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Own and evolve ways of working across the Agentic Platform team, creating lightweight collaboration structures that connect four squads around a shared mission and context.
  • Actively challenge and reimagine traditional Agile and Scrum norms to better fit the pace, complexity, and opportunity of agentic‑powered development.
  • Partner with product managers and tech leads to ensure delivery expectations and timelines are clearly understood, visible, and achievable across squads.
  • Act as liaison across squads to align work, surface and manage dependencies, and upscale risks before they become blockers.
  • Enable clear visibility of sprint/cycle/release health across all four squads, ensuring shared understanding of priorities and scope without creating unnecessary overhead.
  • Demonstrate and encourage adoption of AI tooling within team workflows, modeling what it looks like to work effectively alongside agentic systems.
  • Reduce friction across the product lifecycle – remove impediments, simplify handoffs, and continuously innovate how value gets delivered.
  • Identify and execute team improvement opportunities, coaching squads toward higher performance while respecting their autonomy and context.
  • Support healthy leadership strategies across the value stream, including communication rhythms, metrics, and cross‑squad planning.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
  • At least 6 years of experience working with software or data development teams in a delivery, scrum master, or agile leadership capacity.
  • Demonstrated willingness and ability to adapt or reinvent delivery frameworks to meet the demands of fast‑moving, AI‑adjacent environments.
  • Demonstrated early adoption and practical use of AI tooling in a professional setting.
  • Basic familiarity with AI systems, including a basic understanding of the components of agent systems.
  • Proven ability to operate across multiple teams sharing a broader context, balancing squad‑level needs with program‑level alignment.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills – particularly with technical leads and product managers.
  • High emotional intelligence; ability to build trust, influence without authority, and drive toward shared understanding.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and evolving environments; does not rely on rigid process as a crutch.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Pay Transparency and Benefits:
  • The stated salary range represents the entire span applicable across all geographic markets from lowest to highest. Actual salary offers will be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to geographic location, relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job‑related qualifications, and alignment with market data and cost of labor. In addition to salary, this position is also eligible for variable compensation.
  • Below is a list of some of the benefits we offer our associates:
    • Health: Medical: with competitive plan designs and support for self‑care, wellness and mental health. Dental: with in‑network and out‑of‑network benefit. Vision: with in‑network and out‑of‑network benefit.
    • Wealth: 401(k) with Roth option and matching contribution. Health Savings Account with matching contribution (requires participation in qualifying medical plan). AD&D and supplemental insurance options to help ensure additional protection for you.
