Job summary

Ohio State University Physicians is seeking a Lead Advanced Practice Provider to join the preoperative clinic. The role partners with APP leadership to mentor colleagues, drive clinical excellence, and coordinate onboarding in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

The Lead APP collaborates with physicians and other clinicians to deliver comprehensive care, focusing on preventive health and management of stable chronic conditions within standard care agreements with attending physicians

Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Nursing or equivalent.
  • Current certificate of authority to practice as an APRN-CNP in the State of Ohio required.
  • Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner and/or Physician Assistant program that qualifies the graduate to sit for the certification examination of a national certifying organization recognized by the Ohio Board of Nursing or Medicine.

Responsibilities

  • The Lead Advanced Practice Provider within the within preoperative clinic can be a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
  • Lead APP works with departmental, divisional and APP leadership and will function as a liaison, mentoring, continued education, and on-boarding roles for other advanced practice providers.
  • Administrative and reporting responsibilities as per division.
  • Interacts with the division workforce at large on issues related to advanced practice providers.
  • Provides clinical leadership and mentoring in matters relating to advanced practice and the professional development of APRNs or PAs for serving as the liaison between the APRN/PAs and upper level advanced practice management.

Education

Master's Degree in Nursing or equivalent
Current certificate of authority to practice as an APRN-CNP in the State of Ohio
Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner and/or Physician Assistant program that qualifies the graduate to sit for the certification examination of a national certifying organization recognized by the Ohio Board of Nursing or Medicine

What will you do?

The Lead Advanced Practice Provider within the within preoperative clinic can be a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.   • Interacts with the division workforce at large on issues related to advanced practice providers.
  • Assigns responsibility for mentoring advanced practice providers and is designated expert for advance practice in the division.
  • Provides clinical leadership and mentoring in matters relating to advanced practice and the professional development of APRNs or PAs for serving as the liaison between the APRN/PAs and upper level advanced practice management (Manager and Director).
  • The Lead APP is responsible for providing health care services to patients within the parameters of a standard care agreement with an attending physician member of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
  • Collaborates with a physician (s) & other clinicians in providing a full scope of patient care.
  • Focus is on preventive health or the management of stable chronic conditions. Performs medical services that have been specifically authorized & directed by the credentialing and the collaborative physician.
Qualifications

Pay Range

USD $94,739.05 - USD $157,898.39 /Yr.
