Job summary

Paycom - ATS seeks a Lead Accounts Payable Associate in Ann Arbor, MI to oversee daily AP operations, ensure accurate invoice processing, and mentor AP staff. The role partners with Purchasing, Operations and Finance to resolve issues promptly.

The successful candidate will manage 3+ years of AP experience, mastery of three-way matching, and strong Excel/ERP skills, delivering accurate month-end closings and maintaining vendor records with compliance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Accounts Payable experience required.
• Lead/senior or informal team leadership preferred.
• Strong understanding of three-way matching, invoice processing, vendor management, and payment cycles.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and customer service abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support day-to-day accounts payable activities for high-volume invoice processing.
• Review and verify invoices, payment requests, and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Assist with prioritization of workload and provide mentorship and training to AP team members.
• Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies, vendor inquiries, and payment issues.
• Maintain vendor records and ensure appropriate documentation, tax forms, and payment information are current.
• Coordinate weekly check runs, daily, ACH and wire transfers, and other payment methods.
• Support month-end and year-end activities including 1099‘s, year-end reconciliations, and reporting.
• Monitor AP aging and ensure timely payment of vendor obligations.
• Identify process improvements and participate in system optimization initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and audit requirements.
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Operations, Finance, and external vendors to resolve issues.
