Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions seeks a Lead Senior Accountant for a privately held services organization in Dallas, TX. You will own full-cycle accounting and monthly financial reporting for two growing operating companies within the group.

The role requires a Bachelor's in accounting, 5+ years of full-cycle GL experience, strong U.S. GAAP knowledge, and advanced Excel; you will partner with operations leaders, mentor an AP/AR clerk, and ensure audit readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and at least five years of progressive full-cycle accounting experience.
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ability to translate cash-basis activity to accrual reporting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency (pivot tables, V-lookups) and prior ERP experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with leadership and external partners
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and solve problems in a fast-growing environment
• Prior supervisory experience or readiness to coach and oversee an AP/AR professional is desirable

Responsibilities

• Produce and review journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations for two operating companies.
• Oversee daily AP/AR workflow, approve vouchers, code expenses, schedule payments, and drive collections.
• Maintain a clean GL and balance-sheet schedules, resolve discrepancies before period-end deadlines.
• Monitor ERP activity across production, inventory, purchasing, and customer rebates; investigate variances.
• Partner with Operations leadership on inventory counts, monthly reviews, and ad-hoc financial analysis.
• Supervise and develop one AP/AR clerk, promoting accuracy and process improvements.
• Uphold internal controls and audit readiness across processes.

Responsibilities:

• Produce and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy as the organization migrates from cash- to accrual-basis accounting
• Oversee daily accounts-payable and -receivable workflow—approving vouchers, coding expenses, scheduling payments, posting deposits, and driving timely collections
• Maintain a clean general ledger and balance-sheet schedules, resolving discrepancies before period-end deadlines.
• Monitor ERP activity for production, inventory, purchasing, and customer rebates; investigate variances and correct data issues.
• Partner with the Director of Operations on inventory counts, monthly reviews, and ad-hoc financial analysis that supports strategic decisions
• Supervise and develop one AP/AR clerk, setting priorities and fostering a culture of accuracy and continuous improvements
• Uphold internal controls and corporate accounting policies, ensuring audit readiness across all processes.

Client Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and at least five years of progressive full-cycle accounting expense.
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and the ability to translate cash-basis activity to accrual reporting
• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency (pivot tables, V-lookups) and prior ERP experience
