Job summary

DeKalb County School District's Peachcrest Elementary School is seeking an Academic Skills Center Tutor Lead to support students during the school day and mentor peers.

Responsibilities include tutoring small groups, collaborating with the Lead ASC Tutor and educators, guiding learners toward goals, maintaining progress records, communicating with families, and participating in professional development sessions.

Qualifications

• Certified Tutor requires PSC-certified credential at T-4 or above.
• Non-Certified Tutor requires high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of three years of experience with children.

Responsibilities

• Provides tutoring to small groups of students in the ASC.
• Collaborates with the Lead ASC Tutor, staff, volunteers, and Assistant Principal to select resources and strategies.
• Assists students in setting and monitoring individual goals and progress.
• Guides students in engaging with appropriate learning activities and supports.
• Monitors behavior to maintain a safe learning environment.
• Models social and interpersonal skills such as dialogue and listening.
• Prepares attendance, anecdotal records, and other written materials to document progress.
• Communicates with educators and families about student progress.
• Engages in Professional Learning sessions as assigned.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's degree from a Georgia PSC-approved college or university

High school diploma or GED
