Job summary

STS Technical Services in Melbourne, Florida is seeking an experienced Lead A&P Mechanic for a full-time, contract-to-direct role supporting specialized aircraft maintenance, modification, testing and certification programs.

The ideal candidate holds an FAA A&P certificate, King Air experience, and proven leadership abilities to direct a team of mechanics, perform inspections, troubleshoot systems, and ensure compliance with FAA requirements.

Qualifications

Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate required.
King Air maintenance experience preferred.
Leadership or supervisory experience in aircraft maintenance.
Strong turboprop maintenance and troubleshooting experience.
Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, engineering drawings and regulatory docs.

Responsibilities

Lead and perform scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance.
Perform inspections, repairs and modifications on aircraft.
Assign work and direct technicians and mechanics.
Troubleshoot airframe, powerplant, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and mechanical systems.
Review maintenance records and ensure airworthiness compliance.
Coordinate with Engineering, QA and leadership on modifications and certifications.
Mentor less-experienced technicians and promote safety practices.
