Job summary

Glanbia Performance Nutrition is hiring for a Lead on the 2nd shift in Illinois. You will lead, train, and organize a team to meet daily production and quality targets, while ensuring safety and compliance with GMP/HACCP standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum High School or GED
  • Required 1 year of food environment or consumer product experience
  • Required 2 years of manufacturing/distribution experience
  • Preferred 6 months of previous lead experience
  • Experience using WMS or ERP system with RF scanning a plus
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English fluently
  • Knowledge of GMPs/HACCP
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • Microsoft Office knowledge (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Able to coordinate shift meetings and document detailed reports
  • Able to navigate EHS Training System (Alchemy), EHS Incident Reporting System, and SAP as needed
  • Know batch recording and material handling procedures
  • Root Cause Analysis initiation skills
  • Basic math skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead, train, and organize work activities for a team
  • Ensure safety policies and department procedures are followed
  • Report safety, quality, or maintenance issues
  • Lead department in supervisor's absence
  • Communicate with other departments
  • Complete daily/monthly production/shipping/receiving reports
  • Perform daily audits for safety, quality, and duties
  • Promote team building across shifts and departments
  • Train employees on duties and document training
  • Update procedures and SOPs
  • Wear PPE and follow safety requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Compensation for roles at Glanbia varies depending on a wide range of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience. Glanbia provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Illinois. This range may not be applicable to other locations. The hourly rate for Illinois based employees for this role is $26.25/hour ($25.50/hour + $0.75 shift differential)

Monday through Friday set schedule!

  • 2nd Shift: 2:00pm-10:30pm

What you’ll do:
As a Lead, you will be responsible for leading, training, and organizing work activities for a team to be successful in their job duties.

Every day, you can expect to:

  • Ensure employee of the team practice safe work habits and follow safety rules
  • Ensure that policies and procedures of that department are being followed in a consistent manner
  • Report Safety, Quality, or Maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner
  • Lead the department when the supervisor is absent and able to make decisions for that day
  • Effectively communicate with other departments
  • Know, Understand, Perform all job functions within the department
  • Responsible for the completion of daily/monthly production/shipping/receiving reports.
  • Perform daily audits in the assigned department covering Safety, Quality, and Department Specific Duties
  • Promote team building (from shift to shift and cross –functional teams across departments)Training
  • Train all employees on their specific job duties (proper documentation recorded)
  • Organize and complete the required monthly training using the EHS Training System (Alchemy)
  • Update procedures and SOP’s (new and existing documents)
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): lab coat, safety shoes, safety glasses, bump cap, hearing protection, hair net, beard net, and nitrile gloves
  • Perform other duties as assigned

To thrive in this role, you must:

  • Communicate effectively and lead a team of operations employees
  • Trouble-shoot issues before making adjustments on the machines after training is completed
  • Use Continuous Improvement methods to help solve issues (Why-Why, SMED)

Education:

  • Minimum High School or GED

Other Experience:

  • Required 1 year of food environment or consumer product experience
  • Required 2 years of manufacturing/distribution experiencePreferred 6 months of previous lead experience
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot processes preferred
  • Experience using WMS or ERP system with RF scanning a plus
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English fluently
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all employees inclusive management
  • Knowledge of or familiar with GMP’s/HACCP
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • Computer Experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Able to coordinate and schedule shift meetings (department and cross-functional)
  • Able to document detailed reports about the department
  • Able to communicate details through email including pictures
  • Able to navigate through the EHS Training System (Alchemy), EHS Incident Reporting System, and SAP System when required
  • Knowledge of batch recording and material handling procedures
  • Ability to recommend corrective actions
  • Basic math skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to begin the Root Cause Analysis process

Physical Demands:

  • Occasional Sitting
  • Constant Standing and Walking
  • Lift up to 55 lbs. on an occasional basis 6 inches off ground to waist
  • lift up to 30 lbs on an occasional basis waist to shoulder
  • Carry up to 50 lbs. on an occasional basis up to 5ft
  • Be able to pull a 55lb bag from a height of 60 inches on an occasional basis
