Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking an experienced SAP Data Lead to manage end-to-end data migration and data-quality workstreams for a large SAP transformation program, including S/4HANA and GTS E4H. You will define migration strategy, governance, object scope, mapping, cleansing, load cycles, reconciliation, cutover, and post-load validation.

The role requires strong expertise in SAP master/transaction data, SAP migration tools, data-quality management, and coordination across global delivery

Qualifications

• 10+ years of SAP consulting or enterprise data experience.
• Minimum 6 years of SAP data migration experience.
• Experience leading at least two full-life-cycle SAP data migration programs.
• Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA master and transactional data.

SAP Data Lead

Must Have Technical/Functional Skills

We are seeking an experienced SAP Data Lead to manage the end-to-end data migration and data-quality workstream for a large SAP transformation program involving SAP S/4HANA and SAP GTS E4H.

The Data Lead will define the data migration strategy, governance model, object scope, mapping approach, cleansing process, load cycles, reconciliation framework, cutover plan, and post-load validation activities.

The role requires strong experience with SAP master and transactional data, SAP data migration tools, data-quality management, business reconciliation, and coordination across functional, technical, business, and global delivery teams.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Define the overall SAP data migration strategy and delivery roadmap.
• Establish data governance, ownership, accountability, and decision-making processes.
• Define data migration scope, object inventory, source systems, and target systems.
• Develop standards for data extraction, profiling, cleansing, transformation, loading, and validation.
• Define data-quality rules, acceptance criteria, and reconciliation controls.
• Establish a data migration calendar aligned with testing and deployment milestones.
• Lead data governance and data-readiness meetings.

Data Assessment and Profiling

• Assess source-system data structures, volumes, dependencies, and quality.
• Coordinate data profiling and identify completeness, accuracy, consistency, and duplication issues.
• Document data-quality findings and remediation requirements.
• Work with business data owners to define cleansing and enrichment activities.
• Track data-quality issues through closure.
• Identify risks related to historical data, open transactions, and master-data dependencies.

Data Mapping and Transformation

• Lead source-to-target mapping across SAP S/4HANA and SAP GTS E4H.
• Ensure mapping documents include transformation rules, default values, validations, and business ownership.
• Coordinate mapping reviews with functional consultants and business stakeholders.
• Manage mapping changes and maintain version control.
• Ensure functional requirements are correctly translated into migration rules.
• Confirm dependencies between master data, transactional data, and configuration.

SAP Data Migration Execution

• Plan and manage extraction, transformation, and load activities.
• Lead mock loads, dress rehearsals, production loads, and post-load validation.
• Coordinate with technical teams using SAP Migration Cockpit, staging tables, LTMC, LTMOM, BAPIs, IDocs, SAP Data Services, or approved migration tools.
• Monitor load performance, errors, rejects, and reprocessing.
• Define sequencing for dependent data objects.
• Ensure migration activities are repeatable, controlled, and auditable.
• Define the detailed data cutover plan, including extraction freeze, cleansing, loading, validation, and sign-off.
• Estimate data-load duration and identify critical-path activities.
• Lead mock cutover and production cutover data activities.
• Coordinate business validation during the cutover window.
• Report data migration readiness during go/no-go reviews.
• Support hypercare and resolve post-go-live data issues.
• Lead transition of data-governance responsibilities to steady-state teams.

Team and Stakeholder Management

• Lead SAP data analysts, migration developers, functional data owners, and offshore teams.
• Coordinate with SAP functional leads, integration leads, testing leads, and business teams.
• Communicate data-readiness status, risks, issues, and decisions to program leadership.
• Manage data-related dependencies across SAP and non-SAP systems.
• Facilitate timely business decisions on data scope, retention, and remediation.

Generic Managerial Skills, If any

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field.
• 10+ years of SAP consulting or enterprise data experience.
• Minimum 6 years of SAP data migration experience.
• Experience leading at least two full-life-cycle SAP data migration programs.
• Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA master and transactional data.
• Experience managing large data volumes across multiple source systems and countries.
• Strong knowledge of data profiling, cleansing, mapping, transformation, loading, and reconciliation.
• Experience leading business data owners and technical migration teams.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, analytical, and communication skills.
• Experience working in global onsite-offshore delivery models.

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP S/4HANA data migration experience.
• SAP GTS or SAP GTS E4H data migration experience.
• Experience with SAP Migration Cockpit, LTMC, LTMOM, BAPIs, IDocs, SAP Data Services, or similar migration tools.
• Experience with SAP Master Data Governance.
• Knowledge of SAP Activate and Agile delivery methodologies.
• Experience with data archiving, retention, governance, and security requirements.
• Experience in manufacturing, technology, supply-chain, or global trade environments.
• Familiarity with Jira, Azure DevOps, SAP Cloud ALM, or Solution Manager.
