Job summary

Emerson Public Schools seeks a dedicated Learning Disabilities Teacher for Grades 4–6 to join our instructional team. The tenure-track position begins January 4, 2027, or sooner, serving students in Emerson, New Jersey.

The teacher will design and deliver specially designed instruction aligned with students’ IEPs and collaborate with teachers, families, and related service providers. We prioritize inclusive practices, differentiated instruction, and data-driven decisions to support literacy,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Valid New Jersey instructional certification.
• Out-of-state certificates considered with NJ reciprocity.
• Experience with students with learning disabilities preferred.
• Strong knowledge of differentiated instruction, evidence-based interventions, assessment practices, and IEP implementation.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to inclusive education and student growth.

Responsibilities

• Provide specially designed instruction to Grades 4–6 per IEPs.
• Develop engaging, differentiated, evidence-based instruction.
• Collaborate with general education teachers for inclusive programming.
• Participate in IEP meetings with progress reporting and recommendations.
• Maintain records of student progress and use data to inform instruction.
• Provide accommodations and modifications per IEPs.
• Monitor progress and communicate with families and staff.
• Apply interventions to support literacy, math, and executive functioning.
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
• Collaborate through PLCs and district initiatives.
• Engage in professional development and Emerson Public Schools' instructional growth.
