Job summary

Institute for Family Health in New York, NY seeks a licensed social worker to provide individual, family, and group counseling, crisis intervention, and related services. Qualifications

• Licensure in New York State as an LMSW, LCSW, LMHC-D or LMFT-D.
• Masters in counseling clinical psychology from an accredited University.
• MSW with New York State Certification.
• NY licensure as LMSW, LCSW, LMHC-D or LMFT-D.
• Strong diagnostic and clinical skills.
• Willingness to supervise interns and attend required supervisor courses.
• Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations (e.g., HIV, homeless, mentally ill, elderly, children, adolescents).
• Healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, family, and group counseling, crisis intervention and concrete services.
• Work with physicians and health care personnel to understand psychosocial factors affecting health.
• Prepare comprehensive bio-psychosocial evaluations, mental status exams, patient histories, treatment plans and reports.
• Conduct short- and long-term therapy with appropriate treatment plans, goals, and objectives.
• May supervise social work student interns.
• Educate staff regarding psychosocial issues related to patient care.
• Identify child welfare issues and coordinate with Child Protective services as needed.
• Document all patient services in medical records and complete encounter forms.
• Ensure social service compliance with legal, regulatory and professional standards.
• Participate in Social Service quality assurance and department meetings.
• Demonstrate knowledge to provide age-appropriate care across the patient population.
