Job summary

The Institute for Family Health seeks a licensed social worker to provide individual, family, and group counseling across age groups, crisis intervention, and comprehensive bio-psychosocial evaluations.

You will collaborate with physicians and the care team to develop treatment plans, supervise interns, educate staff on psychosocial issues, and ensure compliant documentation and reporting for child welfare.

Qualifications

• LMSW/LCSW/LMHC-D/LMFT-D licensure in NYS required
• Master's degree in counseling or clinical psychology from an accredited university
• MSW with NYS Certification
• Strong diagnostic and clinical skills
• Willingness to supervise interns and attend required supervisor courses
• Experience working with diverse populations including HIV, homeless, mentally ill, elderly, children, and adolescents

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, family, and group counseling, crisis intervention and comprehensive bio-psychosocial evaluations.
• Collaborate with physicians and other health care personnel to address psychosocial factors affecting health.
• Prepare treatment plans and reports; conduct short- and long-term therapy with defined goals.
• Supervise social work student interns where applicable; educate staff on psychosocial issues.
• Ensure social service compliance with legal, regulatory and professional standards; participate in quality assurance and required meetings.
• Identify child welfare issues and coordinate with Child Protective services as needed; document all patient services in medical records.
