Job summary

The University of Florida in Orlando invites applications for an OPS Laboratory Technician to support the Center for Pharmacometrics and Systems Pharmacology by performing lab and data analysis related to drug quantification, PK, and molecular biology. The successful candidate will collaborate with faculty and trainees on translational and clinical pharmacology projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences or related field.
  • At least one year of laboratory experience in an academic, clinical, industry, or research setting.
  • Experience with sample preparation and bioanalytical assays.
  • Hands-on experience operating and maintaining LC-MS/MS instrumentation.
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting LC-MS/MS data.
  • Knowledge of pharmacokinetic principles and basic PK analyses.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quantitative bioanalysis of drugs and metabolites using LC-MS/MS.
  • Prepare biological samples for analysis via extraction techniques.
  • Develop, optimize, validate LC-MS/MS methods following procedures.
  • Conduct PK analyses and prepare data summaries and reports.
  • Perform genotyping analyses including DNA extraction and PCR-based assays.
  • Conduct gene expression studies with RT-qPCR and related techniques.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and inventories, ensuring safety and quality.
  • Document procedures and contribute to study reports and manuscripts.
