Job summary

Newport Board of Education is seeking a Special Education Teacher with LBD certification to design and implement individualized instruction for students with disabilities at Newport Intermediate School. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher is required.
Valid Kentucky Teaching Certificate for Teacher of Exceptional Children (LBD) is required.
Experience with special needs students preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Instructs assigned classes at designated times and locations.
Plans a program of study that meets individual needs and abilities.
Maintains a conducive classroom environment for learning and student engagement.
Prepares for classes and provides written evidence of preparation when asked.
Communicates with parents, students, and professionals as needed.
Develops IEPs in accordance with district policy and KDE guidelines.
Maintains accurate records and manages the student caseload for IEPs and reevaluations.
Plans data-driven instructional and behavioral adjustments based on ongoing data.
