Job summary

Express Employment Professionals LAX is seeking an Operations Technician to support the LAX Automated People Mover (APM). The role focuses on preventive and corrective maintenance of trains and wayside equipment, troubleshooting, and ensuring readiness for Passenger Service Availability.

Responsibilities include performing inspections, recording work, following safety procedures, working a 24/7 schedule, and collaborating with supervisors.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, electro-mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read manuals, diagrams and schematics.
• Must be able to document work and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs train and system recoveries of failed equipment and light maintenance on vehicles and wayside equipment.
• Recommends hardware and procedural changes identified during maintenance, inspection, or troubleshooting.
• Reviews safety instructions and solutions for maintenance tasks.
• Manually drive trains and ensure trains entering service are fully serviceable.
• Follows safety procedures and documents work performed on forms/records.
• Participates in regular training to maintain knowledge of the system.
• Records activity on Work Orders and related forms.
