The Davey Tree Expert Company seeks a seasonal CLS Plant Health Care Technician in Flat Rock, MI, to apply fertilizers, pesticides, and weed and fungi controls on client properties. This role includes measuring and preparing chemical solutions, documenting work, and ensuring safety and compliance.

Training is provided, with potential DOT driver considerations and state licensing as needed. Applicants need a valid driver’s license; Class B CDL is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old to work in the field.
• Must be at least 21 years old to operate equipment as a DOT certified driver for specific vehicles or equipment.
• Valid Driver’s License. Class B CDL valuable, but not required.
• Successful completion in the Davey Tree Qualified Plant Health Care Technician training program as a plant heath care technician or the ability to obtain qualification within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to complete required safety courses.
• Applicator licenses acquired as necessary per state requirements.
• Ability to operate mobile power equipment.

Responsibilities

• Apply fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides to client properties using various equipment.

• Operate and maintain sprayer equipment, including loading materials, filling tanks, and ensuring machinery efficiency.
• Adhere to safety regulations, use safety equipment, and safely handle materials.
• Perform site clean-up and maintenance tasks.
• Communicate with clients about diagnoses and treatments.
• Keep daily application records and time reports.
