Job summary

DB-Supply-LLC is seeking a capable retail associate to sell merchandise on the sales floor, assist with stocking, and support customer carry-outs in the Lawn and Garden area. You will advise customers on products, water and care for nursery stock, and help with displays and restocking.

The role emphasizes knowledge of garden care, seasonal merchandise, and effective customer service. Physical tasks include standing for long periods and lifting up to 75 pounds as needed.

Description

Provide direct customer service and support by selling merchandise on the sales floor and assisting in customer carry-outs, stocking and restocking of merchandise. This position primarily focuses in the areas of Lawn and Garden along with winterwear. Proven knowledge of tree, shrub, plant care, fertilizers, chemicals, and pesticides preferred. Proven knowledge of winter apparel and seasonal merchandise preferred.

Essential Functions/Duties:

• Sell merchandise and advise customers on merchandise price and features.
• Provide merchandise/product knowledge to customers and recommend alternative or accessory goods.
• Properly water and provide general plant care to nursery stock.
• Advise and assist customers in proper plant placement, soil requirements and information specific to their zone.
• Advise and assist customers in ordering specialized merchandise as needed.
• Provide assistance in receiving and display merchandise in accordance with specific established policies, procedures and standards.
• Answer telephones and handle routine customer telephone inquiries.
• Perform general floor maintenance and housekeeping; monitor and maintain the condition and safekeeping of merchandise.
• Prepare and participate with inventory cycle activities.
• Move material using appropriate material handling tools and equipment including but not limited to: by hand, hand truck, pallet-jack, dolly, and/or operation of forklifts or other vehicles.
• Other duties as assigned by management, related to customer service, merchandising and handling of products.

Required Education/Certification:

High School Diploma or GED is preferred, not required.

Other Requirements:

Must be able to work majority of shift standing and be able to lift up to 75 pounds to move merchandise and physically participate in resets, remodels and reconstruction projects.
