Virginia Green is growing and we’re seeking outdoor-loving individuals to join our team as Lawn Care Technicians (Service Leaders). If you’d rather be outside than behind a desk, this role offers an outdoor office with real results day to day.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record and 1+ years of driving experience.
• Must obtain applicable state Department of Agriculture certification within 30 days of hire.
• Be able to drive long distances or an eight to nine-hour shift in company vehicle.
• Operate company vehicle in compliance with laws and company policy.
• Follow safety protocols while working with equipment.
• Reliable, self-motivated, and team-oriented.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all conditions.
• Physical requirements: up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide services to all properties on assigned route.
• Apply fertilizer, fungicides, herbicides, aeration and seeding for lawn care.
• Diagnose lawn issues and recommend solutions.
• Build relationships with customers and identify service needs.
• Sell additional services to existing and prospective customers.
• Keep properties clean, safe, and looking their best.
• Maintain accurate service records and equipment.
• Assist with training new service leaders.

Day in the Life:

• Work individually or with a crew to provide services to all properties on assigned route
• Using hand and powered equipment, apply fertilizer, fungicides, herbicides, and aeration and seeding for pest and week control in lawns
• Diagnose lawn issues and recommend solutions
• Build relationships with customers and identify service needs
• Sell additional services to existing and prospective customers
• Keep properties clean, safe, and looking their best
• Maintain accurate service records and equipment
• Assist with training new service leaders

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record with 1+ years of driving experience
• Maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Must obtain applicable state Department of Agriculture certification within 30 days of hire
• Be able to drive long distances or an eight to nine-hour shift in company vehicle (truck/trailer)ranging between 6:30am-5:30pm (or until the job is finished)
• Operate company vehicle in compliance with federal, state, local laws, and company policy
• Follow proper safety protocols while working with equipment
• Reliable, self-motivated, and team-oriented
• Comfortable working outdoors in all conditions
• Physical requirements: Standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, pushing, lifting, carrying, and moving objects up to 50 pounds

$19 - $20 an hour

The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
