Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in Hicksville, NY is seeking a dedicated Lawn Care Technician to support our outdoor team. You will fertilize, plant, trim, mow, weed and mulch while delivering client service from an outdoor worksite with fresh vistas each day.

The role requires a background in lawn care or landscaping and a valid driver’s license, with opportunities to advance, training to become a qualified plant health care tech, and access to comprehensive benefits as an employee‑owned firm.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors
• Required: Valid driver’s license
• Required: Background in Lawn/Turf Care or Landscaping
• Preferred: Turf, Weed, Landscape, Hardscape and knowledge of Lawn Care
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Qualified Plant Health Care Tech training program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide, CDL, DOT medical card and related licenses and certificates

• Educate clients about diagnosis and prescribed pest control, aerification and fertilization services.
• Monitor lawn quality and fertilizing methods after application and report progress to customers and supervisors.
• Drive, operate and maintain equipment (truck and sprayer).
• Cross train with landscape crew and split time between lawn care and landscape during growing season

Compensation $26-$34 hourly (Based on experience)

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Cultivate your career and fertilize your future!
