North Carolina Central University in Durham, NC invites applications for an Academic Services Professional in the School of Law's Academic Support Program. The role focuses on supporting law students through counseling, workshops, and tailored guidance to enhance retention and bar readiness.

The successful candidate will teach Academic Success skills, provide confidential counseling, and collaborate with faculty to advance student achievement while upholding professional standards and diversity

Formación

• Excellent oral and written communication in English.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with data management, Excel, and report development.
• Ability to teach and present in workshops and one-on-one settings.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound discretion.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Develop creative solutions while complying with institutional policies.
• Ability to work independently and with diverse populations.

Responsabilidades

• Provide academic support designed to increase retention and graduation of law students through individualized counseling and coaching.
• Analyze student needs to provide confidential academic counseling and strategies.
• Provide workshops on time management, study skills, exam preparation, and legal writing.
• Work with administration and faculty to maximize student success and bar passage.
• Provide feedback to enhance writing and analytical skills.
• Teach Academic Success skills courses and assist with first-year and ongoing tutorial programs.
• Represent the School of Law on planning matters and participate in university committees as needed.
