Qualifying for Prior Service Credit (for pay)
Candidates with full-time paid Law Enforcement (LEO) experience with any local, state or federal agency will be given one (1) year of pay credit for every (1) year of full-time paid employment.
Performs a wide variety of law enforcement functions, including but not limited to Crime suppression, crime prevention, protection of personal liberties, regulation of non-criminal conduct, and provision of services.
Applicants must be prepared to demonstrate the ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
May be required to physically subdue violent persons/prisoners and/or chase persons/prisoners on foot to apprehend them to take into custody.
Must wear body armor and carry duty weapons and equipment weighing up to 25 lbs.
Must submit to random drug and alcohol testing during employment.
Must work rotating shifts and assignments and is subject to call out 24 hours a day.
