Job summary

Thurston County Superior Court is seeking a Law Clerk to perform legal research under judges and a Staff Attorney. You will study statutes and case law, review motions, briefs, and memoranda, and draft orders with recommendations to senior staff and judges.

Excellent legal writing and research skills are essential. Requirements include graduation from an ABA-accredited law school and admission or pending admission to the Washington State Bar.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a law school accredited by the ABA.
• GPA 3.3 or better as required.
• Passing the Washington State Bar or admission within one year from date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research on statutes and case law as assigned.
• Review motions, briefs, and memoranda; draft memoranda and orders.
• Prepare written and oral summaries for judges and staff attorneys.
