Shelby County TN in Memphis seeks a law student intern to support researching legal data for briefs and arguments under direct supervision. You will access statutes, case law, and records to gather pertinent data for current matters.
The position requires enrollment in a law school as a rising 2L or higher, or an equivalent education/experience. You will draft memoranda, briefs, and correspondence, and file pleadings with the court clerk as needed, gaining practical courtroom exposure.
Works under direct supervision of an assigned supervisor to be responsible for researching legal data for briefs or arguments based on statutory law or decisions.
Pay Grade: 41H

The residency exemption for public safety/civil service employees does not include Appointed positions with Sheriff's Office, Division of Corrections or the Fire Department.
